Overview
As a CAD Draftsman, you will be responsible for translating conceptual designs, sketches, or specifications into precise and detailed technical drawings using computer-aided design software. Your work will serve as a critical component in the development, planning, and execution of various projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drafting and Design: Create 2D and 3D drawings, schematics, and plans based on project requirements, blueprints, or design specifications.
2. CAD Software Operation: Proficiently use CAD software programs (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit,3D Lift Plan) to produce accurate drawings and models.
3. Technical Documentation: Generate engineering and architectural drawings and lift plans.
4. Dimensioning and Annotation: Add dimensions, annotations, symbols, and labels to drawings to convey essential information for manufacturing or construction.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet project objectives and quality standards.
6. Revision Management: Keep track of design changes and revisions, updating drawings accordingly.
7. Quality Assurance: Verify the accuracy and completeness of drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
8. Material and Component Selection: Assist in selecting appropriate materials, components, and finishes based on design requirements and cost considerations.
9. Cost Estimation: Contribute to cost estimation by providing accurate material and quantity data from drawings.
10. File Management: Organize and maintain CAD files, adhering to naming conventions and version control.
11. Training and Skill Development: Stay updated with the latest CAD software features and industry trends to enhance skills and productivity.
Qualifications
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required, with additional coursework or an associate degree in CAD technology or a related field being beneficial.
