Fleet and Maintenance Shop Supervisor – Bothell

Objective

Ness Campbell has an immediate opening for a Fleet Maintenance Shop Supervisor. This position is crucial to safety, setting goals, planning, budgeting, vehicle and physical shop maintenance. Recommends and implements strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Directly supervises union maintenance personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Is a leader
  • Monitors all maintenance activities including quality assurance for safety, training and inventory control to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Evaluates the condition of the fleet; identifies maintenance trends with the maintenance analyst; plans and establishes new procedures and takes action to prevent, resolve, and manage problems.
  • Manages and develops maintenance for Washington Operations.
  • Establishes fleet standards to improve fleet reliability in a cost-effective manner.
  • Coordinates with outside vendors to determine equipment and special tool requirements. Ensures that all maintenance contracts are being accomplished according to specifications.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and skill levels of various types of technical and service personnel. Suggest manufactures trainings from these evaluations.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and daily work in the Shop.
  • Responsible for controlling labor, material and inventory budget.
  • Coordinates vehicle movements with operating locations.
  • Reviews and analyzes, with head Mechanics, the techniques and procedures to improve work efficiency and quality. Implements plans and Policies.
  • Maintains all vehicle registrations
  • Monitors and maintains companies’ GPS system.
  • Other duties assigned.

Relationships & Roles

Requirements

  • 5 years of previous experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, including large vehicles such as cranes, truck, trailer, or Heavy Equipment
  • 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience in transportation management, vehicle maintenance, mechanical/equipment maintenance, engineering, or other related field, preferably in the transit industry.
  • Additional experience may substitute for the required education.

  • $75,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
