Ralph Esary

Vice President, Seattle Division

Like the other partners, I started at the bottom—as a crane oiler. I came to NessCampbell Crane + Rigging in 1992, worked in lifting, and went up through the ranks until I became a VP ten years ago. Since then, I’ve had daily oversight and guidance of operations, dispatch, and safety for the Seattle office. That includes listening to any and all employee concerns, and making sure they understand that everyone contributes to our success. We all have to be team players, humble, but aggressive, because we’re challenged every day to control the uncontrollable—to make changes on the fly. I love the pace. It’s invigorating to see the company grow. It’s been exciting to see our people grow in both their careers and their family lives. We really do enjoy family. Our upcoming crane operators are like a brotherhood, ready to train the next generation. We, in turn, mentor rising managers. We all want the same thing: to give everyone the opportunity to grow in their careers with NessCampbell all the way through to retirement.
